Answer
My Department recurrently funded the Regional Uro-Gynae Mesh Centre in the Belfast Trust. This service delivers:
A surgical pathway involving outpatient clinics and inpatient theatre lists with input from consultants in Uro-Gynae, Urology, plastics and colorectal specialties, if required.
A non-surgical pathway involving a multi-disciplinary team with input from physiotherapy, psychology and consultant anaesthetists in the pain service.
To reduce waiting times in this specialist service the Department of Health, have offered non-recurrent funding to deliver increased capacity throughout 2025/2026 and the Belfast Trust is considering any opportunities it would have to offer additional capacity.
