Answer
There has been no decision to halt the progression of the Altnagelvin Paediatrics Unit project. The future funding profile for the project will be considered as part of the development of the DoH Capital Investment Plan which is dependent upon the outcome of the NI Executive Budget 2026 process.
Paediatric services continue to be delivered at Altnagelvin Area Hospital, however, I recognise the importance of the improvements in the quality of care that will be delivered by the new facility and would hope that the project can be taken forward with as little delay as possible.
