Answer
The former ‘New Way’ building (formerly Hill Croft School) forms part of a larger site owned by the Department of Health. This site is surplus to health requirements. The site and the existing building are managed by the Northern HSC Trust on behalf of the Department. Neither the Department nor the Trust have a future use for the existing building. The Department intends to dispose of the surplus site (including the existing building). Given the existence of a scheduled monument on the wider site, Departmental officials are currently working in partnership and collaboration with statutory partners to see if this land can be brought forward for social housing development.
