To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether her Department will reconsider the installation of a pedestrian crossing at the Prince Charles Way roundabout, Belfast, where cars leave the junction towards the Church Road and O'Neill's Road, for the safety of children crossing to attend the local primary school, given another pedestrian crossing was installed at the O'Neill Road roundabout where cars exit towards Church Road.

Answer
Following the procedures set out in RSPPG E005 Controlled Crossings: Assessment Procedures, officials from my Department completed an initial survey and assessment at Prince Charles Way roundabout for the provision of a pedestrian crossing. The survey found that the site surpassed the minimum score required to proceed to a detailed survey and assessment.
I have been advised that the detailed survey and assessment will take place during the 2025/26 school year. Should the results from this survey indicate that a crossing is required, the site will be added to a prioritised list of sites that have met the criteria for the provision of a pedestrian crossing.
My officials will inform you of the results of the detailed survey and assessment when completed.
