Answer
On 25 September 2025 I announced the introduction of new Private Streets Enforcement Guidance for staff. This guidance will greatly reduce the risk of developments, constructed from January 2024, remaining unadopted. The new policy indicates enforcement action will be taken by the Department after a period of 2 years following 80% occupancy. Therefore, the timescales have not yet been breached.
My officials continue to monitor the progress of all housing developments and engage with developers to ensure timely adoption through the normal Private Streets process.
